Tia Shah
Learning Officer
Tia is the Learning Officer at the Migration Museum. She delivers engaging sessions, creates resources and facilitates conversations about migration, for schools and young people. Tia is particularly interested in family and youth engagement and loves the part of her job which allows her to have impactful 1-1 conversations with young people, and creatively embed their voices into the museum.
Tia joined the Migration Museum from a background in heritage education and community engagement, following an MA in Early Modern History from Durham University. As a second-generation immigrant Tia has a personal interest in migration and enjoys using personal connections to engage people about the topic. Tia is passionate about making young people feel comfortable in museums and diversifying the stories that are told there. In her spare time, Tia supports young people to build foundational skills to pursue careers in heritage, and shares untold stories about girls throughout history as a Contributing Writer at Girl Museum.
