Join us for our final event in Lewisham on Saturday 29 March — a day of free, fun drop-in activities for the whole family. This is our chance to celebrate, reflect and thank our amazing Lewisham community before we close.
What to expect:
Creative Writing Workshop
Join actor and educator Tia Andrea Guttensohn for a creative writing workshop. Write a monologue to your younger self and your future self, capturing a moment in your evolving story and reflecting on how you see yourself—past, present, and future.
3D Paper Fruits & Basket-Making
Led by museum educator Neysela Da Silva-Reed, this hands-on craft session will bring our Global/Local market stall back to life one last time! Families will explore the colours, shapes, and patterns of fruits from around the world. Children can create 3D paper fruits, while adults craft paper baskets to carry them home.
*The Global/Local market stall was a popular feature in our Taking Care of Business exhibition, which highlighted the role of migrant entrepreneurs in shaping Britain. It explored the origins of common fruits and vegetables, showcasing how migration influences the food we eat.
Frame-Making Workshop
Get creative with Chery Nguyen and make your own photo frame. Capture a special memory in the museum, print your photo, and take home a keepsake.
Illustration Drop-In
Illustrator Jess Nash will be offering live illustrations, drawing visitors or their memories in iconic Migration Museum templates to take home.
Stay tuned for details on an exciting performance to start the day!
