Departures: 400 Years of Emigration from Britain – Partner Stories is a national series to accompany the Migration Museum’s Departures exhibition and podcast series.

British emigration is one of the largest mass movements of people in modern history – and emigration stories resonate across the UK. We’ve partnered with museums and galleries across the country to highlight some of the emigration stories in their collections, through captions, displays and a series of blog posts. 

You can explore these Partner Stories by visiting our partner museums and scanning the QR codes displayed on captions next to the relevant displays in their galleries and exhibitions, and/or by reading the partner blog posts, which we’ll be publishing on our blog and sharing on social media over the coming weeks.
